Baltimore Inner Harbor 4th of July fireworks up close and personal - Part II
Baltimore Inner Harbor 4th of July fireworks up close and personal - Part I
On a spur of the moment, we decided to go downtown to see fireworks at Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Hadn't done that in years and decided it was worth checking out locations along Lancaster Street rather than try to horn in on the masses.
We found a free parking spot almost right away, somewhat of a tight fit, but didn't care. Proximity to an amazing vantage point for the fireworks far outweighed any possibility of being towed. Besides, so close to launch time, who was going to mind if my car jutted beyond a No Parking sign?
After a riveting experience on the waterfront, I'm all poop decked out. Needless to say, Part I of my downtown 4th of July celebration is a pictorial. More to come. Hang tight.
Memorial Day weekend grocery store haikus
More Images Like This
You try planning a BBQ on a holiday weekend. Yep, it's Memorial Day and yesterday, I had a rollicking good time at the grocery store. Not.
To honor the memory of America's fallen heroes, some heartfelt grocery store haikus:
Back in a corner
Watermelons turn into
Smelly rotten fruit
Where are the store clerks?
Endless long aisles look alike
Can't find the ketchup
My cart's squeaky wheel
Pleads for a grease infusion
Nails across blackboards
The crying baby
Ignores attempted soothing
Shut up already
Checkout line backed up
She took her time with my stuff
Brand new employee
Nerves shot, patience gone
Once again in longest line
I sure can pick 'em

Disgusting wedding customs kickoff the season
This Sunday, I'm attending a bridal shower, my first of the season. Not that I'm any type of wedding butterfly, but these days more of our friends' children are getting married, and occasionally, I do receive an invitation to the bridal shower. I hope this means we'll also get an invitation to the wedding, but one can never tell.
We're approaching wedding season and what better way to get in the groove than share horribly nauseating wedding customs via mass media? Early this morning as my alarm went off with the Wall Street Journal Update, I decided to stick around for their segment on weird wedding customs from around the globe rather than jump right into the shower. Just in case we ever get invited to nuptials in some other part of the world. One can never be too prepared.
