George Clooney lavish wedding ceremony

Oh how I love the story tease from infotainment show, Entertainment Tonight.

"George Clooney's Italian I-Do's."

"Academy Awards on the lake."

"Clooney celebration pics from the wedding in Italy."

Just enough to reel you in and make you sit through Mel Gibson's racist tirade.

Clooney married? No way. No how. How could I not have heard about it? I'd been catching up on email and news headlines since late yesterday afternoon. Surely celebrity news of such momentous proportions would have shown up in every gossip blog and tweet this side of the Mississippi.

Jim Brochin campaign message worth sweating record summer temperatures

Yesterday, I stumped door to door for Maryland State Senator Jim Brochin, who is facing a few challengers in his bid for re-election. We got so sweaty going door to door, Jim offered to buy us drinks.

I think Brochin is the kind of legislator Annapolis can't afford to lose. Bright, personable, fiscally conservative, progressive on the environment and matters of social justice, and willing to put his money where his mouth is, especially when it comes to balancing the State budget, Brochin is one of the few Democrat incumbents willing to buck the political machinery.

Friday flip-offs first edition

Gigi over at Kludgy Mom has a whole lot of website going on. Fun, creative, nurturing, and talented, Gigi has a place where moms feel comfortable dropping in, dropping out, meeting like-minded bloggers and sharing ideas.

But not all is sunshine and gumdrops at the site, perhaps the kludgy part of the name hinting at a darker, unhappier side of motherhood. In that vein, Gigi started a bloghop called Friday Flip-Offs, the title a tad more sinister than actual posts. At first, I liked the idea of joining a cluster of rants, but then chickened out, figuring I could rant at my own Carnival of Rants.

But then I saw Gigi's flip-offs again and decided this time around I really would give it a whirl. Besides, I promised I would do it and a good Do Bee never goes back on a promise.

Telltale signs pointed to prison for Lindsay Lohan before sentencing hearing

In the days leading up to actress Lindsay Lohan's now infamous probation revocation hearing, anyone bothering to visit her humble abode would have realized the poor dear was headed for prison.

For one thing, her apartment was overflowing with the telltale signs. Empty tequila bottles. Half-eaten Chinese food all over the living room. Nothing but light beer and lemons in the refrigerator. A passed-out guy on an unmade bed, spittle gluing his face to the headboard. Open nail polish bottles littering the vanity.
